The Washington Internship Institute has conveniently-located housing in the “NoMa” (North of Massachusetts Avenue) neighborhood of Washington, DC. It’s just a 6-minute walk to the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station on the Red Line. Spend the summer living with other interns from all over the country in a convenient area!

Apartment & Building Features

The apartments feature:

  • 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartments shared by 4 students (no single bedrooms)

  • Furniture (couches, dining set, extra-long twin beds, and dressers)

  • Washer and dryer in-unit

  • Utilities (electric, water) included

  • Internet and Wi-Fi included

  • Full kitchen with basic kitchenware included (students are only asked to bring their own linens/bedding, towels, clothes hangers, and personal toiletry items)

After arrival, students should purchase cleaning supplies, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, food, toilet paper, paper towels, and napkins.

The apartment building offers a fitness center, lounges for studying or working or relaxing, and 24/7 concierge services.

Within walking distance you’ll find several grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, Union Market food hall, and more.


Availability and Fees

Our Summer 2026 housing runs from May 27 to August 8 for up to 10 weeks. Regrettably we cannot accommodate earlier arrival dates or later departure dates. Check-in is by appointment from 10 AM to 10 PM every day of the week.

Summer 2026 Housing Fee: $4,800
Summer 2026 Housing Deposit (refundable after departure): $200* 

*Housing fee does not include a $200 housing deposit (refundable after departure). Note: The housing deposit is not refundable if you cancel your stay.

The housing fee includes one space in a double room within a 4-person apartment, in-unit laundry, all utilities, internet, and access to building amenities. Parking is not available.

The housing fee is due in full 30 days prior to the arrival date via bank transfer. If housing is arranged fewer than 30 days prior to arrival, then the payment is due in full upon making the arrangements.

Application

Students must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for housing.

To apply for housing, students submit an application form, a photo of their face (to be used for an ID card), and a $200 housing deposit via bank transfer.
