What You Can See and Do
The Nation's Capital...Your Cool New Neighborhood
Imagine spending your free time strolling by the White House, visiting the National Zoo, seeing the Lincoln Memorial at night, or watching a Presidential motorcade—activities you won’t have back home or on your own college campus. With the Washington Internship Institute, you don’t have to imagine these experiences— you’ll live them.
Washington, DC is full of opportunities to learn and connect. Free admission to all 19 Smithsonian Museums, free performances multiple times a week at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, not to mention the National Mall, monuments, sports teams, cultural events, and so much more.
We also arrange several group activities throughout the semester so that you get to have some experiences you might not have on your own. Some of these group trips have included:
Washington National’s Baseball Game
International Spy Museum
Planet Word Museum
Kennedy Center Tour
Colonial Ghost Tour in Old Town Alexandria
African American History Tour
Monument Walking Tour
U.S. Capitol Building Tour
