Program Housing

Our program housing is located in the vibrant “NoMa” (North of Massachusetts Avenue) neighborhood of Washington, DC — just a 6-minute walk to the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station (subway) on the Red Line. All WII program students earning full-time credit receive a U-Pass that covers unlimited rides on Metrorail and Metrobus, making it easy — and free! — to commute to your internship and explore DC.

While living in our fully furnished apartments, you'll meet peers from across the country, create an instant community, and benefit from living in a convenient location near public transportation. Living with the Washington Internship Institute gives you the opportunity to grow and experience life as an independent young professional.

We offer reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible apartments are available to students who need them. We also allow documented service animals and emotional support animals. Students who have a campus-approved housing accommodation may submit documentation to WII prior to the application deadline.

Housing is a required piece of our study-away program. However, at the time of application, students may apply for a housing exemption to live with local family or friends for the semester by providing WII with their local address. Housing commitments are binding. Changes made to a student’s housing commitment before the application deadline may result in a $500 cancellation fee. There are no changes to the housing commitment after the application deadline has passed.

Please note that housing information and availability is subject to change.
