What You Can See and Do

The Nation's Capital...Your Cool New Neighborhood

Imagine spending your free time strolling by the White House, visiting the National Zoo, seeing the Lincoln Memorial at night, or watching a Presidential motorcade—activities you won’t have back home or on your own college campus. With the Washington Internship Institute, you don’t have to imagine these experiences— you’ll live them.

Washington, DC is full of opportunities to learn and connect. In the evenings and on the weekends, you’ll have time to broaden your interests as a result of living in a diverse, eclectic, and international city.  You'll enjoy free nightly performances at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and free admission to all 17 of the Smithsonian museums in the DC area.

Explore the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, or other historic sites located around the National Mall. We arrange activities throughout the experience, such as sporting events, cultural events, and tourist hotspots.  The city also has tons of networking events and social activities, so you can get to know the city and other young professionals even better.
