Marissa Marquez is an HR Business Partner at Legacy Community Health, serving as a consultant to leadership on a variety of actions including employee relations issues, policy interpretation/application, and talent management and development. She leans on her legal background to assist leadership with understanding complex employment law concepts like wage and hour laws or federal leave laws.

“I knew that knowing where I needed to improve would not only help me develop in my career, but also provide the best results.”

Marissa interned with WII in the summer of 2004 at the Center for Child Protection and Family Support, where she says she benefited most from the constructive feedback her supervisor offered. “She made sure I understood that a true professional is able to receive feedback,” she says. “Throughout my career, I have voluntarily asked for feedback because I knew that knowing where I needed to improve would not only help me develop in my career, but also provide the best results.”
