Internship Program Coordinator
Kate is an Internship Program Coordinator at the Washington Internship Institute. She supports students in searching for opportunities, developing applications, preparing for interviews, and choosing internships that will help them develop personally and professionally.
Prior to working at the Washington Internship Institute, Kate taught English in South Korea, coordinated international exchange programs at a nonprofit partner of the US Department of State, and shared stories of public school teachers for an education nonprofit. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and German Studies at Duke University and is in her final semester of graduate school at American University, where she studies Intercultural and International Communication.
Kate fell in love with Washington during a college internship at the US Department of State and has been boomeranging back to the city ever since. Although the winters are too cold for her Florida-adapted preferences, she enjoys DC’s events, atmosphere, food, and—despite any comments to the contrary—availability of public transportation.
